It isn’t so much that i’m not interested in new music, but the idea that so much good stuff in the past has been made and forgotten seems like a real pity. Veronica Vasicka, owner of the label, Minimal Wave has been releasing very minimally produced, raw synth music from the early 80’s. It is amazing stuff that needs to be heard. And in a very odd/cool collaboration, Stones Throw has released a comp with a bunch of tracks from Minimal Wave. Check the promo podcast by Veronica Vasicka here.

A year of musical inspirations for me. The revival of Creme Jak brings with it a track that was originally exclusive for JTC’s record box. One guitar loop to rule them all, JTC is without a doubt, the king of the box. Buy it from Godspill
Jak the Box.

Fun times and partying like I have never witness before. The Fixed Gear London guys are absolutely nuts. I understand it went on for a long long time. Thanks a lot to that kid Michael that rode with me back to South Hamstead it was too late and too rainy for me to figure that shit out. Thanks to Andy for the care pack and bike 14 co for hosting the Revival movie. This city fucking rocks, but fuckin sucks for getting around, seriously.

“Carton bike box and a lot of tape to repair the box after every flight. But it works well, cuz the box is light; bike boxes are way to heavy.”
Thanks Stijin!

Love this pic of Danny Wolfers in his benz. He posted a free mp3 to go with it. Nice guy really.
I can’t get over how cute the copy to his Amiga Railroad Adventures record is.
“From the romantic days of Amiga computing cosyness come 16 fresh new Legowelt tracks in the style of Beyond the Congo and Venom 18. Music about golf courses in the Bermuda Triangle (oh no the ball went into a dimensional hole!), Night driving through 16 bit Amiga Pine Forests (Deluxe Paint sprites!), British railroad romantics (dedication to the trainspotters), Dr. Loomis’ adventures in Haddonfield and much, much more! Made on the mighty Amiga 1200 running the Octamed sequencer, a TR808, a couple of Korg modulars and some old effects boxes.”
Be sure to check out his amazing radio show, The Astro Unicorn, on IFM FM1 where he plays as host DJ Smackos.
I remember the first Friderday like it was yesterday.
